THE RURAL IN URBAN PLANNING: THE CASE OF AN AMAZON CITY

Bearing in mind that, in the urban planning, rural communities are still kept as an isolated form from the urban context, this study aims at analyze in what way the rural integrates the regional urban planning in the cities of Amazonian Region. More specifically, the question of how it was made the rural inclusion at the Municipal Laranjal do Jari Directive Plan. For this it will be held a bibliographical review work, with an emphasis on the historical aspects of the Amazon urban planning, as well as the lifts of the theoretical references which discuss the relation urban-rural. Besides, it seeks to identify and analyze the implications of the urban planning model of Laranjal do Jari for the research project of development of rural surrounding communities of the Itarapuru River Sustainable Development Reserve. This way, the research is divided in four parts: the Socio- spatial Contextualization of Laranjal do Jari City, emphasizing its origin and the rules that indicated the new planning model for the city; the Amazonian Urbanization Planning, in which will be considered the historical aspects of Amazonian urbanization, emphasizing the general planning experiences in different moments; the Relation Urban-Rural, in it will be highlighted the mainly tendencies of the theoretical discuss of this relation, contextualizing the Brazilian position and, finally, the Municipal Laranjal do Jari Directive Plan and its discipline.
