Abstract

The article approaches the principle of equality in the contemporary scenario as an instrument for promoting social leveling, confronting it with the principle of equity. It also highlights the main markers of differences (race, gender and social class) adopted by legal systems at a global level, and how they have been articulated in order to guarantee equal opportunities for all.
