Pedophilia: Socio-Legal Aspects and Its Implications for the Work of the Public Prosecution Service

This study aims to examine the phenomenon of pedophilia from a socio-legal perspective, highlighting its implications for the work of the Public Prosecution Service; it addresses child and adolescent sexual abuse as a serious violation of human rights and analyzes pedophilia from a medical perspective as a pathological condition; the research further explores the legal aspects related to pedophilia and sexual offenses, particularly in light of Law No. 12,015/2009; finally, it examines the role of the Public Prosecution Service in combating such crimes, protecting the rights of children and adolescents, and coordinating with other institutions, including the presentation of innovative practices.
