This article analyzes the arguments for and against the practice of police officers using their official identification to gain free access to entertainment venues outside the exercise of their official duties, for purely personal purposes. It concludes that such practices, which constitute personal privileges detached from public functions, are incompatible with the principles of the Democratic Rule of Law. The arguments commonly invoked by police institutions to justify this practice are critically examined and found to be inconsistent with democratic standards. The study also emphasizes the need for oversight and control of such conduct, as it represents a form of abuse of authority.
