In recent years, the psychosocial teams of the Public Prosecution Service of the Federal District and Territories have developed and evaluated intervention strategies in situations of domestic violence within the Prosecutor’s Office Coordinations in each Administrative Region. This article describes the work of these teams since the formulation of the decentralization pilot project and discusses the theoretical and methodological foundations of the reception of women in situations of domestic violence carried out by these teams. It also presents professionals’ perspectives on the activities developed and examines how this approach may serve multiple functions, ranging from data collection and analytical production to support legal activities, to fostering broader societal transformation projects.
